Tampa Bay Buccaneers pulled off an impressive comeback Sunday afternoon against the Indianapolis Colts in the Lucas Oil Stadium. The credit goes to the star running back Leonard Fournette. Not just for scoring four crucial touchdowns, but also for pumping in some life back to the lifeless Tampa Bay squad.

With this, the nickname ‘Locker Room Lenny’ could be added to his bunch of monikers. His on-field and off-field contributions to the team really make him the MVP for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Leonard Fournette pumps life back in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

“I was like, ‘You have to have a will and a want,'” Fournette said. “‘You have to be willing to risk everything. Play by play, you have to want to win, you have to want to fight, each and every play.’ I think they understood that message and played their lights out.”

“You could tell the mood — people’s energy was down. And it wasn’t like we [were] out there getting our asses whooped. It’s just the little things separating us to win the game from them,” Fournette said. “So just trying to boost everybody coming out. And thank God it worked.”

The Buccaneers’ star RB also backed up his speech with an incredible second-half spell, including his game-winning touchdown at the end of the game leading the Bucs by a play and with just 20 seconds left in the game. Throughout the game, he rushed for 100 yards, scoring three rushing TDs on 17 carries and adding another TD and 31 yards on seven catches.

Rob Gronkowski felt fired up with the halftime speech

Lenny’s halftime speech was so influential that even tight end Rob Gronkowski, approved of it, “It was excellent. It got everyone fired up. He went out there and he backed it up too, and it just shows just how much we respect Lenny.”

“I felt like we were flat in the first half. The energy wasn’t there. The second half, we just went out there and played as a team — offensively, defensively, the defense was creating turnovers, we were scoring, Lenny was just running the ball amazing, and we just stuck together too. And to have a win on the road like that — that was a playoff-caliber win.”

Leonard Fournette was on another level Sunday afternoon as he recorded a career-high stat and bring back the champion spirit into the squad. And as the Bucs prepare to go up against the Falcons next week, Leonard will mostly deliver again as a hero just as he did against the Colts.
