A Day After Ambushing A Man With A Bottle, Tom Brady’s Former Teammate Claims Innocence And Says “Truth Will…”

Willie McGinest has turned the NFL world on its head within the span of a day. After the events transpired on Monday, McGinest reportedly turned himself into custody. The former Super Bowl champion and current NFL Network analyst was arrested on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. After the catastrophic events at a nightclub in West Hollywood, he addressed the issue publicly for the first time.

The shocking display of violence from McGinest, who is also Tom Brady’s former teammate, has astounded the football world. In the wake of what occurred, he cryptically revealed that there was more to the issue.

Willie McGinest makes an unconvincing claim on social media

Willie McGinest, whose bail was set at $30,000 was reportedly released after he posted bond. He took to Instagram and shared a story stating, “Things aren’t always how they seem at first glance. The Truth will prevail.”  While McGinest claims that there is more to the story, the video clip acquired by TMZ shows the actions of the linebacker and his acquaintances in graphic detail.

Footage of the former linebacker entering ‘Delilah’, a nightclub in West Hollywood has caused waves online. McGinest is seen walking up to a man to lean over to strike up a conversation. All of a sudden, the former NFL star begins to land punch after punch. Others join him in beating up the alleged victim. He also appeared to pick up a bottle and used it to hit the victim on his head. The man was flung to the floor amidst the chaos. The footage later shows McGinest leaving the establishment of his own accord.

McGinest has fans scratching their heads in bewilderment

The alleged victim miraculously was able to stand on his two feet after taking a heavy beating. While there’s a chance that his claim of the events not being how they appear is true, the visible unprovoked violence tells another story. The reasons that may or may not have caused this turn of events are unknown. But McGinest and Co will find themselves answerable to many. Audacy Sports’ Lucy Burdge tweeted a screenshot of McGinest’s Instagram story.

The Patriots legend, who is also an NFL Network analyst will reportedly find himself unemployed until the matter is reviewed. NFL reporter Dov Kleiman’s tweet about the incident garnered reactions of shock from across the NFL world. Kleiman said, “Video: NFL Network analyst and #Patriots 3-time Super Bowl Champion Willie McGinest was arrested for attacking a man and bashing his head with a bottle, via TMZ.” NFL fans who are accustomed to seeing McGinest in a game setting on their screens were treated to an extremely violent version of the former linebacker. They will await further details of the issue while questions about the former player’s role in the matter continue to plague minds.
