The Green Bay Packers will play their rivals, the Chicago Bears, on Sunday. Lead QB, Aaron Rodgers, sustained a rib injury when he faced the Eagles but he’s cleared from the injury report. Although the Packers have their QB, who turned 39 on December 2, they still have a problem that lingers over their head.

David Bakhtiari, the left tackle of the team, did not practice with the squad. After several hours, reports emerged that the 31-year-old had an appendectomy on Friday. Thus, after getting his appendix removed, Bakhtiari will not play against the Bears. 

This will be the fourth game Bakhtiari will miss. He did not take part in the first two games of the Packers because the two-time First-team All-Pro was healing from an injured knee. The knee injury dates back to the 2020 season. When the last time the left tackle missed the game at Washington, Green Bay started rookie Zach Tom.

The starting QB, Aaron Rodgers, plans to protect his ribs by wearing some time of protection. There are numerous injured players on the roster. Therefore, the team is probably figuring out how they will transpire through the game on Sunday. However, a former NFL player thinks that the NFL MVP QB will buckle up and face the Chicago Bears so that he does not lose his lead QB position.

Aaron Rodgers to bring his A game against the Bears

The Super Bowl-winning QB exited the game after taking a violent hit in his rib. Jordan Love substituted Rodgers and threw a passing touchdown at Christian Watson. Seeing this, many fans and analysts believe that Rodgers’ QB era is maybe ending.

Former Cowboy, Chris Canty, was of the opinion that the four times MVP champ will do whatever it will take for him to be in the position. The former defensive end explained that the reigning MVP winner does not want to give Love any “oxygen.” Furthermore, Rodgers got his starting QB job when the Dallas Cowboys knocked Brett Favre out of the game in 2007. Implying that the Packers QB does not want history to repeat itself.

But in a locker room interview, reporters asked him his opinion about Love replacing him. A-Rod answered he knows the league is a “business” and that if the team needed to end his era, he will keep an “open mind” about it. Therefore, Canty’s theory brings a new angle to why Rodgers would not want Number 10 to start the games.
