The popularity of Patrick Mahomes in the celebrity world is unreal. In a short span of six years, the gunslinger became everyone’s favorite, including the popular American artist Henry Winkler who can’t get past talking about the quarterback. Recently, he revealed that his bromance with Mahomes has grown to the extent that he got an invitation for dinner, something that he cherished like an achievement.

The 77-year-old actor does not belong to Kansas City or happen to live there; however, Mahomes’ charm and competitiveness increased his affinity towards the Chiefs. Well, Mahomes can now brag about having a profile celebrity as his big fan.

While speaking to the reporters of TMZ on an unexpected occasion, Winkler narrated the story of how the duo got closer. He vowed to root for Kansas City, claiming the squad would play the championship game this year.

When asked who is better, Patrick Mahomes or Tom Brady? The superstar dodged the question cleverly, saying that he doesn’t believe in comparisons and Mahomes is best on his own. “He is great in his own right, but somebody’s gotta win the Super Bowl,” Winkler said.

Meanwhile, he also recalled the brief interaction he had with Mahomes during the Chargers game, eventually getting an invitation for dinner. “We’re talking like we’re chatting. He runs off and turns around. He said I’m gonna take you up on that dinner” Winkler said.

His praises for the quarterback didn’t stop there. “First of all, Patrick is great. He is so improvisational. There is no drama. If Patrick comes to my house, he will get a chicken stuffed with ricotta and spinach with a reduction.” the veteran added.

Henry Winkler’s affinity towards Patrick Mahomes began from the Rich Eisen Show

The NFL world got to know more about this fanboying moment of Winkler when he appeared in an episode of The Rich Eisen show. Interestingly, that happened even before the 2022 season had begun. While having a serious discussion on the comedy series “Barry” and its cast on HBO, Winkler stopped Eisen asking him whether he had met Mahomes in person.

As soon as Eisen admitted having shared some moments with the quarterback, Winkler opened up on his compassion for the team and Mahomes as an athlete. It’s quite enriching even for the fans hearing those words and watching Winkler’s excitement, just like a 10-year-old.
