The athlete-turned-commentator left the NFL in 2000. Although this didn’t abandon his devotion to a daily workout and a healthy diet. This left many fans wondering exactly what sort of training regimen the Cowboys great pursues to keep the taut abs.

After over 22 seasons in the NFL, a younger breed of football supporters recognizes Aikman more for his efforts as a broadcaster trying to break down offensive failures than for his decade-plus of finesse demolishing defensive secondaries followed by a trip to three Super Bowl victories.

The Pegan Gallon approach of Troy Aikman

Although Troy Aikman hasn’t taken part in an NFL game in 22 years, he is still as health-conscious as any active player. The NFL analyst shares some glimpses into the training and nutrition that aids him in staying in shape via a detailed Post on Instagram.

Aikman says he does roughly four days of strength training and five or six days of cardio in a regular week. On his “off” days, he keeps himself active by walking for roughly 3-6 miles.
