However, the young talented quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs has won the best deal there is in the league. Patrick Mahomes signed his 10-year-long contract with the Chiefs. It was worth $450 million and the annual value is $45 million. Mahomes is among the highest-earning quarterbacks even though there are four more shot callers that lead the list.

Although he stands behind players like Aaron Rodgers ($50.271 million), Russell Wilson ($49 million), Kyler Murray ($46.1 million), and Deshaun Watson ($46 million), the team offered the lucrative contract to him for a reason. Many consider the contract given to him a steal for the impressive performance he has shown till now.

The total value of the contract was $502.631 million. And the base value after the extension kicks will be $477.631 million for an average of $39.8 million per year.

The reason Patrick Mahomes bagged the mega profitable deal

To offer such a huge contract to Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs had to make changes to the roster. Kansas City moved on from Tyreek Hill and Tyrann Mathieu. The reason the 26-year-old leading QB attained the lucrative contract was the performance he served.

Under the guidance of Mahomes, the Chiefs have played four times in the AFC Championship Games. And also, he also led his team to its first Super Bowl appearance in fifty years during the 2020 playoffs. The Chiefs not only played, but also won the Lombardi Trophy that year.
