Aaron Rodgers would wish for his life to become easier, but the universe is not answering his prayers. Recently, the Green Bay Packers placed LT David Bakhtiari on the players unable to perform, or PUP list. After missing the better part of the last season, it becomes a major obstacle for both Bakhtiari and Rodgers.
Head coach of the Green Bay Packers, Matt LaFleur, expected the LT to be on the field to start the camp before the season begins. However, being placed on the PUP list is a cause of concern for the Packers.

Although the Packers are favorites in the NFC, their woes continue to pile up. The Packers lost their no. 1 WR Adams earlier in the offseason to the Raiders. Moreover, their no. 2 WR, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, also left the team, signing with the Kansas City Chiefs. So even though the team brought in replacements for the WRs, the team dynamics are pretty shaky at the start.
It is highly uncertain whether David Bakhtiari will take the field or play any games for the Packers in the 2022 season. Additionally, Bakhtiari played just one game last season after tearing his ACL in December 2020.
Is Bakhtiari being on the PUP list more trouble for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers?
Bakhtiari missed the first ten weeks of the 2021 season on the PUP list. Further, the Packers did not bring him back until the team’s final regular-season game. The LT played 20 snaps in that match-up but became inactive during the Packers’ playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Earlier in the offseason, speaking about Bakhtiari participating in the camp, Matt LaFleur said, “Time will tell. We fully anticipate him being ready to go, but, you know, we did last year as well. I think time will tell. We feel good about the work he’s put in and where he’s at.”
However, putting a player on the PUP list isn’t the world’s end. It could also mean that the team is giving some buffer time to the player for recovery before the season officially starts. In LaFleur’s words, time will tell what happens with David Bakhtiari and if Rodgers will have a solid lineup to begin with?
