The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in a race to get their head above the waters. While they are currently 6-6 in the league, their next game will be an uphill battle. This Sunday the Bucs will be heading to Santa Clara to face the San Francisco 49ers. It will mark the only second appearance of Tom Brady in San Francisco.
While the player has openly admitted to desiring to be on the home side of this match-up, Kyle Shanahan, the HC for the red and gold, denied the player that opportunity in 2020. But it seems like he might have made the wrong call.

The Niners are currently 8-4 for the season, with their grip over the NFC West getting stronger and stronger. This Sunday, they will be hosting Brady and the Bucs. Leading to the match, Kyle Shanahan has expressed how impressed he was with the 45-year-old’s progress since 2019. “His throwing mechanics, they only get better each year, so I feel like his arm’s stronger now than it was 10 years ago,” explained Shanahan.
“His legs moved just as good as they did 10 years ago. They weren’t great then, but he’s extremely efficient and quick in the pocket.” This certainly makes it seem like Shanahan might rue the missed opportunity to sign the player for his childhood team. But unfortunately, they instead passed on the player.

Brady has now been the GOAT of the NFL for quite some time. While the player established one of the greatest dynasties in the history of the league with the Patriots, as a budding athlete, Brady grew up idolizing Joe Montana, who led the 49ers to 4 Super Bowl victories. Hoping to replicate his idol’s journey, TB12 also hoped to dawn the red and golden. But seeing him get on the wrong side of time, his dream never came true.
In 2020, during Brady’s free agency, the organization decided to keep hold of Jimmy Garoppolo instead, which came as a surprise because of the well-known interest of Tom Terrific’s to return to the Bay Area.
The 45-year-old went to Tampa Bay in the end. Leading the NFC team to Super Bowl in his first season. Needless to say, he already had his revenge on all those sides who had ruled the player’s career over after the 2019 season.
