Jimmy Garoppolo has always been the last man standing for the Niners. His contribution towards molding the team to what it is today is commendable. Even his critics agree that he was not just a quarterback for the side, because his presence had always brought strength and confidence to the organization.

After a long and complicated tenure of four and a half years in the San Francisco 49ers, the veteran is set to part ways with the team. To bid farewell to their beloved QB, stars like Arik Armstead expressed their sentiments on his exit. 

While talking to the NBCS, Armstead reminded all his fans and critics that Jimmy was not less than a backbone for the team. And his leadership skills had helped them evolve as a better player.

Jimmy Garoppolo – a team builder!

Armstead, the defensive lineman was all in heaps of praise for his quarterback and his stint in the Niners. Jimmy was traded by the Niners in the mid-season of 2017 from the New England Patriots. Since then, he had devoted his heart and soul to the team and gradually helped them build a successful organization. The QB led his team to two NFC championships and a Super Bowl stage with several other achievements for the side. 

Jimmy and the DL shared the same locker room for five years and he clearly understands that Jimmy’s absence will make initial jitters for the team. Armstead recalled all those ‘dark days’ and how quickly it all disappeared when Jimmy made his entry to the team.

It was only 7 games from two seasons that the Niners were able to win before 2017. However, Jimmy’s tenure completely overthrew the prolonged misery of the side and made them big guys in the league matches.

What’s next for Garoppolo?

It is still unclear what’s ahead for the veteran. However, he is a firm believer and has a lot of football left in him to contribute to the game. The Niners torch which he was holding for quite a while now, seems to have passed to Trey Lance as the new quarterback. And he’s all set to take on new challenges in the NFL world.

Garoppolo also asserted his wish during the final conference of the team and said that he wants to play for the side that desires to win. He thanked the media and his lovable fans who were supporting him in his hard and fun times.
