Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady did recently took to Twitter to announce his decision to retire from the NFL. The 7-time Super Bowl champion received high praise from the San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan. The coach was seen paying Brady homage for a decorated NFL career and admitted that he learned a lot from him.

Shanahan was also in the admission of how he studied Brady and his techniques and using them for his teams. He did state, “It’s as big of retirement as there’s ever been. Best quarterback to ever play, best football player to ever play. As best athlete, Michael Jordan used to be that guy for me; now it’s Tom Brady.”

Coach Shanahan was quite happy to pay homage to a historic and dominant career. The former Patriots and Buccaneers QB deserves to be in that conversation. But the mention of an American sports icon like Michael Jordan with Tom Brady will kick off the Jordan meme fest once again.
