As long as Mac Jones plays with the New England Patriots, one will always compare him with his predecessor and seven-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady. The 23-year-old will enter the second season of his NFL career, and people have already started drawing comparisons.

Recently, the Broncos Legend and HOFer tight end Shannon Sharpe brutally roasted people who were going after second-year Mac Jones vs. second-year Tom Brady.

There is no doubt that Mac Jones is yet to establish his dynasty, but he has an incredible opportunity to learn from the very same coach, Bill Belichick, who shaped Brady towards greatness.

According to Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe of UNDISPUTED, Patriots analyst, Scott Zolak claims Jones is an incredible quarterback and reminds them of Tom Brady playing for the team.

Reacting to the statement, Sharpe clarified that the Alabama alumnus needed more time and one needed to stop unnecessary comparisons.

“I think in order to maximize this kid, you can’t always put them in a situation where they know he’s going to throw the football. You got to be a little bit more creative. And let him throw the ball on first out.” Sharpe said on the show.

Moreover, the Broncos star thinks they will provide Jones with much more facilities in his second season than they gave Brady. “I believe they’re going to put a little bit more on his plate than what they put on Brady’s plate in his second season,” he added to his statements.

Shannon Sharpe thinks that Tom Brady is a class apart

After setting foot into the league as a 199th draft pick in the 2000 NFL draft, Tom Brady made exemplary contributions to the game. The 44-year-old rose to glory in his second year itself by winning a Super Bowl title for the New England Patriots.

As a result, Sharpe thinks that the debate about who was better between Brady and Jones is an immature discussion. The franchise may lose people because the fans will not look back 20 years ago.

“…it’s just like when you compare a young player, a player in his second year to a historically transcendent pantheon, I just go you’re gonna lose the people,” Sharpe said.
