Arizona Cardinals have a sweet problem involving defensive end JJ Watt and tight end Zach Ertz. The Cardinals recently finished their voluntary OTAs leaving Watt and Ertz as the last men standing. While it should have been a moment of pride and happiness, a minor beef ensues between the beef named ‘Donutgate.‘

The Cardinals TE approached Watt with an interesting idea to get donuts for their strength and conditioning coach Buddy Morris. Ertz was trying to find what kind of donuts would Watt like to have as he aimed to get donuts for him as well. JJ Watt, the 2-time DPOY, chooses pink/strawberry glazed and maple glazed variations.

But the next day, Ertz arrives with a box of donuts without Watt’s flavors and upsets the Cardinals’ DE.
In regards to donutgate…
JJs first request, “pink/strawberry”, wasn’t even on the online ordering menu…
Therefore the rest of his order was disregarded 🤷🏼♂️Let’s just focus on the part of me getting a dozen donuts and not focus on the rest 😂🤣 https://t.co/3vwvPHbN6s

Former Colts punter Pat McAfee covered this incident in his show, leading to Watt replying to him on Twitter, stating, “falling apart at the seams…”
falling apart at the seams.
in absolute shambles.
don’t know how we ever recover from this.

While the reply from Watt was one of humor, like the incident, the Donutgate will roll on forever in fan memories.
JJ Watt is putting in the work for the 2022 NFL campaign
The former Texans DE has been a hard worker ever since he entered the NFL in 2011 and proving his critics wrong. His popularity, currently in the USA, was not something he came in with, but rather, his hard work trained him into one of the well-known figures in American athletics. Watt found motivations in the smallest of instances. It drives him to achieve greatness on the football field.
The 5-time Pro Bowler is now an established veteran on the Cardinals roster. He missed a significant portion of last season due to an injury incurred in Week 7 against the Texans. With Watt on their roster, the Cardinals were unbeaten in the first seven games of the NFL season.
But his absence saw them fall to an 11-7 win-loss record while losing in the 2021 playoffs.

The Cardinals fans will hope that Watt remains injury-free throughout the upcoming season as they look to make strides. But the key for the franchise will be to dare to dream of making a deep run in the NFL playoffs next season.
