Russell Wilson was touted as the answer to all the problems faced by the Denver Broncos before the start of the 2022 season. That was the reason the Broncos went all-in for him in the trade market. But he has had a season to forget at Denver. Amid the ongoing crisis in the franchise, Wilson has maintained a radio silence and hasn’t spoken about the problems at all.

The Broncos wanted to be Super Bowl contenders once again, but are out of the playoff picture altogether.

Fans expected Russell Wilson to say something about the ongoing crisis with the Broncos. The QB has faced severe criticism since arriving at Denver as he hasn’t been able to replicate what he achieved in Seattle. Wilson came in as a proven NFL quarterback who is a Super Bowl champion. But things haven’t gotten going at all for him in the new surroundings.

Since the Broncos fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett after the SoFi disaster, the QB hasn’t used his Twitter to air out anything. He did speak on Hackett’s firing, though, but nothing more than that.

Many of his teammates have come out to defend the QB amid criticism. But the doubts about dressing room harmony still persist. Should he speak out necessarily? Well, that’s on him. But it will certainly help both him and the team if he addresses the concerns that float around. Especially after such a disastrous season where the team has struggled to put wins on the board.

The Broncos brought Russell Wilson in with a blockbuster deal and sent multiple future draft picks to the Seattle Seahawks. That has become a sort of crisis for the team, as they don’t have a major draft pick to strengthen the team in the future. And they will miss that as they need to bring fresh blood in to turn things around.

The Broncos also gave Wilson a huge contract that will make it difficult for them to trade him out. And he certainly hasn’t impressed since coming to Denver. The QB has just 12 touchdown passes in 16 weeks. He has thrown just 3,019 passing yards and nine interceptions. His form has seen the Broncos drop to a 4-11 overall record at the end of week 16. Certainly not a performance the franchise hoped for.
