2021 No. 1 draft pick Trevor Lawrence is making his mark in the NFL. However, there is a hilarious side to his draft pick as well. The Jacksonville Jaguars picked Lawrence in the first round of the 2020 Draft. He did something peculiar at the time of his medical testing to confirm his contract with the team. It is not every day that we see someone bailing on their medical test just to meet their inspiration.
However, Lawrence did exactly that to meet Super Bowl LIV winner Patrick Mahomes. In addition, he bailed on his medical testing to get married to his long-time girlfriend, Marissa Mowry. He proposed to her in July 2020 in South Carolina at the Clemson University stadium.

After the proposal, the couple went to attend the Masters in Augusta, Georgia. In addition, Lawrence met with Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes. He was there to attend the event with his teammate from the Chiefs, tight end Travis Kelce.
The drafts are supposed to undergo in-person medical exams and physicals before they formally joined their teams. More so, it was important for Lawrence to attend the medical examination since he suffered a shoulder injury.

The NFL admin conducts pre-draft medical exams and physicals. These are routine tests that are usually in continuance with the Combine (the hurry up and wait test). The Jaguars‘ QB performed fairly well for a first-season player. He notched 12 TDs and 17 INTs, completing 3641 yards. With a more promising future, Lawrence would hope to improve his performance manifold in the upcoming season.
Although it did not cause him much trouble, him missing the medical exams to get married and meet Mahomes was quite hilarious.
