We’ve known it for a while now, but tonight it was made official. Trevor Lawrence is officially the 1st overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Urban Meyer-coached Jacksonville Jaguars took their time and kept the fans waiting before making the decision to bring in the Clemson Tigers man.

It’s no secret that Lawrence and coach Meyer have been talking continuously over the last couple of months. He even visited the Jaguars’ training center and was spotted house-hunting in Florida along with his wife Marissa Mowry this summer.

After an impressive ACC career, Lawrence will now embark on a whole new chapter of his football career.

Trevor Lawrence joins Jacksonville Jaguars after 2021 NFL Draft selection

21-year old Trevor Lawrence was the 1st player to be selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Knoxville-born quarterback will join up with the Jaguars under the tutelage of the legendary coach, Urban Meyer. In doing so, he is now part of franchise history.

Lawrence is the first player to be selected as the 1st overall pick in the NFL. He is also the first Clemson Tigers player to be drafted in top-3 all-time. He is the 3rd ACC player to be drafted as the 1st overall pick in the NFL Draft.

It won’t be easy for Lawrence and the Jaguars to make the NFL Playoffs in the coming years. They will go up against strong competition in the AFC South in the form of Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts, and the Houston Texans.

The COVID-19 pandemic presents certain challenges for teams and players across the league. The Jaguars must adapt quickly to coach Meyer’s system in the short offseason or risk failure.
