Book noted that he modeled his game after their style of play. Additionally, Book also took inspiration from Browns’ Baker Mayfield, because he is fiercely competitive.
“There’s a few. I watch Drew Brees and Russell Wilson all the time. Those are my two that I love to watch. I watch them compete, I love watching Baker Mayfield. I love how much of a competitor he is. But those three, I love watching.
“I try to play a similar game as them. At the end of day, those three are just winners and they’re competitive. They’re super competitive and what they do is win and that’s what I want to do.”

Ian Book looking to make an impact in the NFL
Book has drawn a number of eyes to himself with his play over the years. He joined Notre Dame in 2016 but chose to take a redshirt, which allows college players to extend their eligibility beyond the natural 4 years of a standard undergraduate degree.
Book finally made his debut for the Fighting Irish in 2017. In his first season, Book was a secondary option behind other starting quarterbacks.
However, he did have moments to shine across the year. He famously came off the bench in the 2018 Citrus Bowl game to get Notre Dame the victory over LSU in a thrilling encounter.
