The 2021 NFL Draft is fast approaching. Teams across the league are scrambling to put together a strong roster in order to reach their respective short-term and long-term goals. The theme for this year’s draft is centered around quarterbacks. The likes of Trevor Lawrence (Clemson Tigers), Justin Fields (Ohio State), Zach Wilson (BYU), and Trey Lance (NDSU) are a few names being mentioned in the media.
Trevor Lawrence is expected to join Urban Meyer-led Jacksonville Jaguars as the first-overall pick this summer. At the same time, Robert Saleh’s new-look New York Jets are expected to move in for BYU’s Zach Wilson. They’ve already traded Sam Darnold to Carolina Panthers.
But with San Francisco 49ers and the Atlanta Falcons also in the hunt for a quarterback, who will win the race for Justin Fields?

Will Ohio State QB Justin Fields succeed or flop in the NFL?
Despite leading the Ohio State Buckeyes to the CFP National Championship final, critics are still not convinced with the potential of Justin Fields. But one person who is more than sure that the youngster will be a huge success in the NFL is OSU coach Ryan Day.
When questions were being asked about Fields’ work ethic, Day replied saying, “That’s crazy. He got done with the Clemson game and he came back and all he did was work to get back to that game. And when those other guys are opting out, what’s he do? He petitions to have a season. He put together this petition that the Big Ten athletes all signed saying that they want to play, but they want to play safely and that they don’t accept canceling the season.”

“It was all led by Justin Fields. Where was everybody else? Where were the guys who were opting out then? You know you don’t love the game if you’re doing something like that. This kid loves the game. I think some people are being a little reckless with their comments,” Day said via Peter King for his Football Morning in America column.
Justin Fields concluded his final season with the Buckeyes throwing for 2,100 yards with 22 passing TDs against 6 interceptions. Over the course of his 3-year NCAA career, he has thrown for 5,701 yards with 67 passing TDs and 9 interceptions. He also has 1,133 rushing yards and 19 rushing TDs.

Stats aside, Fields has shown on multiple occasions that he is a leader, both on the football field and off it too. But only time will tell if coach Kyle Shanahan takes a gamble and drafts the youngster at number three in the 2021 NFL Draft.
