The Arizona Cardinals have found themselves in a tricky situation. In addition to losing two of their top free agents in defensive end Zach Allen and cornerback Byron Murphy, the Cardinals also had to come up with a brand new office and coaching staff. Not to mention the retirement of veteran defensive end J.J. Watt along with OC Rodney Hudson.

Despite all these changes, the most embarrassing moment came along for the Arizona Cardinals, at the behest of a survey conducted by the NFLPA. Arizona charging its players for food was also brought up by a former Cardinals player. The Cardinals ranked 31st on the list, barely taking over the Washington Commanders, as we have seen in recent times, it’s best not to be on a list with Washington when it comes to the management of the team.

The Cardinals came up as one of the best run teams in the entire NFL, finishing as the only team in the NFL to have four “F” grades or worse.

According to the Arizona players, the Cardinals needed to step up in every aspect of their management. While many would expect an NFL team to get a decent grade in nutrition, weight room, and training room, the Cardinals managed an ‘F’ in all of these categories.

The fact that Arizona charged its players to eat caught the most attention amidst everything. Byron Murphy signed with Minnesota Vikings and shared his comparison with Arizona, “I can tell since I got here. Everything here is nice, I’m not gonna lie. Everything, I think it’s free, so I’m good now. It’s all you can eat now.

Room for improvement

The newly recruited Cardinals’ head coach, Jonathan Gannon is well aware of the noise surrounding their organization and felt it was necessary to defend his team, “Well, there was a lot of noise out there (as) there tends to be. A lot of it was inaccurate. I think a lot of people came in and liked our facility.”

Gannon felt that the Cardinals need to improve on every front, whether it’s concerning the game or just infrastructure. “We talked a lot about areas of improvement that were just not football, but also football operations and about areas where we could be improving things. We’re very open about that,” reported via azcentral
