The future looks quite depressing for the Jets quarterback Zach Wilson who showcased a terrible performance in Week 16. Apart from getting booed by his home crowd, it is rumored that the management might break their association with him. Meanwhile, fans seemed to have found a new landing spot for Wilson, in case he no longer remains in the Jets locker room.

Wilson got benched for the second time following a poor performance this season. During the Jaguars match-up, he could only play till the first half. In the third quarter, a practice squad member who recently got elevated into the roster, Chris Streveler, took charge at the center. As a result, rumors have started spreading across the NFL world about a possible breakup of Wilson from the franchise.

Even though the credibility of this information seems vague at this point because none of the parties has validated these claims, the overall atmosphere looks inching toward this decision. Meanwhile, fans have already shifted their mind from Wilson, claiming that the former second-overall pick would get a role in the Broncos’ country.

Getting a gig with the Denver Broncos certainly looks like a far-fetched idea at this point. Even though Russell Wilson had been underperforming, there is no chance the management would look for any other prospect.

Despite all those uncertainties, one of the incidents that looked unnecessary was Wilson getting booed at the MetLife stadium. His mother, Lisa, condemned the act and called the people a “toxic” fan base.

Zach Wilson acknowledged his mistakes

For Wilson, this is the second year he is playing in the NFL. So far, his early jitters and inability to convert the games turned out as the highlight of his career. In the 19-3 loss to the Jaguars, Wilson could only rack up 92 yards. He completed nine passes out of 18 attempts.

His inaccuracies made the fans go wild and call him out, asking the head coach Robert Saleh to replace him. Following the game, Wilson reacted to the incident and accepted his underperformance. “I don’t blame them, we have a passionate fanbase, and they’re here to watch us score touchdowns, and we’re not scoring touchdowns,” Wilson said to the reporters.

“We’re not getting first downs, we’re not moving the ball, and we obviously can’t throw the ball, so of course, they’re going to be frustrated,” he added. Anyways, it is yet to be seen, how the coaching staff controls the entire scenario and hopefully rebuilds the side.
