On Saturday, Gervonta “Tank” Davis once again cemented that he is the real deal by winning the lightweight championship. Coming off a career-long layoff of 14 months didn’t matter either. Davis stepped into the MGM Grand Garden Arena ring with the ‘Ghostbusters’ movie theme song playing in the background. His steely determination was enough to promise the game to be a thing to behold, and the promise was kept. Watching the unbeaten top contender Frank “The Ghost” Martin struggling to defend his WBA 135-pound title was a massive surprise no fan knew they needed.

Deion Sanders Jr. was one of them. Just like the fans around the world, he, too, had a unique reaction to the fight. “It was a good fight… you can tell bro got tired,” Buckey tweeted, commenting on his unfiltered view of ‘The Ghost’ Martin. Well, who is to blame?

After a slow start, Davis finally started his threatening walk from corner to corner. His power shots did the remaining job of taking away Martin’s jab. Davis’ final electric left uppercut nearly shocked the ‘Ghost’ before knocking him out cold with a left cross. But Martin was ready to wager himself as he reached to his feet at the count of 10, all to maintain his undefeated record. Refree Harvey Dock, however, called off the fight because of the poor condition of Martin.

Circling back to Deion Sanders Jr.’s reaction to the fight, some fans wholeheartedly agreed with Buckey’s thought process. Others, however, stood up to oppose his view, defending Martin’s effort in the ring.

What the fans had to say about Deion Sanders Jr.’s tweet

The fans had indeed picked sides. ‘The Tank’s’ fans were having a good laugh at Sanders Jr.’s comment, while ‘The Ghost’s’ fans were not getting humored. Shooting the Davis breeze, a fan commented, “U can tell tank was just waiting to turn up.”

Another one, who was all in for just enjoying the fight and not picking any sides wrote, “None bout tht fight was good lmao it was all bad from the time he called tank out.” While this was about the ones who ‘enjoyed’ the fight. The troop of the ones who didn’t, were ready to shoot down Buckey’s words.

Some were pretty straightforward with it. “No, it wasn’t Bucky,” a fan commented brashly. Well, Martin did try to bounce back in the fight, but the ‘Tank’ was fuelled for his first chance of redeeming his reputation from his recent jail sentence.

Other fans gave their reasons for it. “No sir…he kept putting himself in a box by being in the corner and on the ropes majority of the fight. It was gon catch back up wit him eventually,” tweeted another fan.

“Oh yea, great Game plan to do that to a young fighter,” another player added, summarizing the hate that fans were throwing onto Davis. Yet, it was another win added to the five world titles for the ‘Tank’.
