Adding fuel to the fire, Lewis recently praised USC coach Lincoln Riley’s “good run with all the Heisman trophies and stuffs like that.” But a Colorado staffer is ready to counter the negative thoughts surrounding the program. 

In the June 26 Well Off Media clip, Deion Sanders Jr. asks a staffer for “Saturday Motivation.” “I’m always motivated to speak to the people,” he said enthusiastically. “Just want everybody to know there’s nothing funny about failure,” he began, likely referencing the constant criticism Colorado faced after a disappointing season. The staffer then took a surprisingly optimistic turn, stating, “There’s everything funny about success.”

“And now I can laugh at you cuz you didn’t succeed!” he said, pointing at the irony. 

This may seem odd, but the staffer explains: “The reason why I say that’s because people always trying to stop you from succeeding.” His message? Let the critics underestimate you. When you succeed, you laugh last. While a clever motivational tactic, the proper test will be Lewis’ decision. Will he prioritize past wins or trust Coach Prime’s vision for the future?

Unlike the typical recruiting tactics of flashy cars or luxury stays, the community showered Lewis with a warm, hometown welcome. Kids and adults alike chanted “We Want JuJu,” their enthusiasm palpable on handmade placards. Even the century-old The Sink burger joint dedicated a special “JuJu Precision Pass Burger” to his honor.

This genuine warmth extended beyond the fans. Even the coaches and Buffs players seemed to genuinely connect with Lewis, as his hype-worthy social media post demonstrated. The photo depicts Buffs QB Shedeur Sanders symbolically passing the responsibility to Lewis, who sits confidently on the team’s thrown. Further solidifying the positive experience, Lewis gave a thumbs up on his social media handle for the famous “Skink Burger” and the incredible reception from Colorado fans.

While the visit appears a success, Boulder awaits Lewis’s final word of commitment, the key to sealing this newfound hope. He hinted to On3 about shutting down his recruitment soon to “focus on things that need to be done for my senior year,” suggesting that a decision is imminent.
