Coach Prime, who is fully embracing his life in Boulder, seems not just focused on the CU Buffaloes football team — but also keeping an eye on other athletic programs at the university.
Deion Sanders has praised Abbey Glynn, CU Buff’s star athlete and a sprints/hurdles program senior, who recently had an amazing accomplishment at the NCAA outdoor field championships held at Hayward Field. On Thursday, Glynn competed in the 400m hurdles, placing an impressive fourth place with a time of 56.06 seconds. This eventually qualified her for the finals.
Sanders, clearly proud of Glynn’s achievement, took to Instagram to express his heartfelt wishes for her. He posted an IG story of the ongoing finals and wrote, “Proud of you @AbbeyGlynn. You are awesome.” His excitement was quite evident as he posted it with a screenshot of the “lane assignment” for the finals showing his shoutout to the athlete. Abbey Glynn then reposted Deion’s story on Instagram with: “Thank You!!! @deionsanders”

This year, the CU Buffs track team includes a strong group of female athletes. It seems that Coach Prime’s football program isn’t the only one creating hype and hope.
The Colorado Buffaloes shine with stars beyond Coach Prime’s football team
It’s crunch time for the Colorado Buffaloes‘ track team as this month is packed with finals for several star athletes. Leading the charge is senior sprinter Glynn, who’s headed to the finals – but she’s not alone. Her fellow Buffs, Ella Baran and Bailey Hertenstein, are gearing up for their 5,000m finals on the same day. Meanwhile, multi-talented Avery McMullen will be busy on Day Two of the heptathlon, competing in the javelin throw, 800m race, and long jump.

The men in Boulder are stepping up, too! Freshman standout Kole Mathison is the lone men’s representative for the Buffs at the championships, but he made a big impression. He finished in a strong 19th place, qualifying for the 3,000m steeplechase national semifinals.
Coach Prime isn’t the only star bringing excitement to CU athletics. While Sanders has certainly brought fame, attention, and new NIL opportunities to the program, the university has always been home to talented athletes like these. This time, they’re proving they also deserve the spotlight!
