Shedeur Sanders looks like a definite threat to the Cornhuskers! Many college football fans are now eagerly anticipating the September 7th showdown between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Colorado Buffaloes. Last year, the Buffaloes dominated with a decisive 36-14 victory.

While some predict another win for Colorado, Nebraska’s coach, Matt Rhule, feels confident about his team’s chances due to their new quarterback, Dylan Raiola. Sure, this year’s matchup in Nebraska’s hometown could be a battle of ‘red hot’ offenses.

Leading up to this clash, Nebraska beat writer Steven Sipple and Colorado beat writer Brian Howell exchanged views on their teams’ current state. In a July 3rd YouTube video, Howell reflected on last year’s lopsided game, citing Nebraska’s inability to snap the ball cleanly. Sipple acknowledged the loss and mentioned the departure of their starting quarterback, Jeff Sims. He then added, “Matt Rhule hasn’t named the starting quarterback yet, but it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion. However, there will be Dylan Raiola.”

Sipple praised “Dylan is very mature for a true freshman”, while also highlighting his impressive physical stature – 6’3″ and 220 pounds. Now, the kid is definitely bigger than Shedeur Sanders. However, he acknowledged the experience gap: “At the end of the day, he’s still a young boy. You cover guys who come in as 18-year-olds…and they’re boys. But you wouldn’t call Shedeur Sanders a boy. He’s a grown man.” This experience factor seems to be a key advantage for Colorado’s quarterback. Thus Sipple stressed, “You prefer to have a grown man at quarterback in that environment.”

Now, Rhule himself recognizes this threat. He credits Shedeur Sanders as the pillar of the Buffaloes’ offense and looks forward to facing him.

Can Raiola overcome Shedeur Sanders in the rematch?

Coach Matt Rhule is gearing up for a heated rivalry rematch against Coach Prime’s Colorado Buffaloes and he spoke about it on July 2nd’s episode of “The Joel Klatt Show.” He’s brimming with confidence in his 5-star quarterback, Dylan Raiola. Rhule showered Raiola with praise, calling him “really smart” and highlighting his impressive work ethic. He believes Raiola’s commitment sets the tone for the whole team: “When your best players work the hardest, you have a great team.” He sounded all set to win this season and sure to not disappoint the red flags and t-shirts in Nebraska ground.

However, Rhule’s respect extends to the opposing team’s quarterback, Shedeur Sanders. He offered high praise, stating, “He [Shedeur] is one of the best football players I’ve ever coached against.”  Now, these words truly carry weight coming from a rival coach. Why such admiration?  Rhule elaborated, “I think we sacked him like 10 times. And we hit him a ton. And he stood in there…he’s an unbelievable competitor. And he’s tough.” Sure Sanders’ resilience is undeniable. He holds the record for most sacks last year at a staggering 52. It’s even rumored he played through pain with numbing injections. So, with Shedeur’s experience and unwavering determination, can Raiola, despite his talent, truly compete?
