“I’m not a natural born giver,” said Deion Sanders when asked about his go-to Valentine’s Day gift. “I’m a natural-born liver. I don’t believe in overshadowing all the rest of the days with one day. I believe in consistency of days.” While he may not be a natural-born giver, he sure knows how to show his love. “What do we get in return [on holidays like Valentine’s Day]? Nothing but the opportunity to be a blessing.” And it looks like his daughter, Shelomi, took that opportunity up for her mother, Pilar Sanders.
Swept off her feet in a heartwarming display of affection this Valentine’s Day, Pilar received a delightful surprise from Shelomi. It had everything you’d expect as a gift on Valentine’s Day – everything from roses and chocolates down to a handwritten letter. It served as a reminder that love can take on various forms, showcasing the beauty of connections beyond romantic entanglements.
Pilar Sanders shared a sneak peek of the surprise on her Instagram story. In a basket filled with chocolates and candies, the actress showed the multitude of roses Shelomi gifted her – red, blue, and yellow. Alongside a Baby Yoda stuffed toy were a variety of cards, one of which read, “Thank you, Mom, for everything” inside a red heart. With the carefully handpicked gifts, Shelomi demonstrated her intricate understanding of Pilar’s preferences. However, it was Shelomi’s handwritten note that caught everyone’s attention.

Going beyond the conventional boundaries, Shelomi’s note read, “Will you be my Valentine?” Considering how heartfelt the gesture was, how could Pilar not have expressed her gratitude? Acknowledging the hamper filled with love, she wrote, “My Lovely CutiePie @shelomii_ does the most thoughtful and sweetest things for mommy!😍😍😍😍😍” And this wasn’t the first time her daughter expressed her love for Pilar publicly.

Known for her grand gestures, Shelomi previously love-bombed Pilar during one of her matches playing for the Colorado Buffaloes Women’s Basketball team. She playfully bit her mother’s cheek while Pilar was expecting a loving peck. Reacting to this, Coach Prime’s ex-wife took to Instagram and wrote, “My Gosh, that hurts.” They share a strong mother-daughter relationship, and while Shelomi showed her love for Pilar on Valentine’s Day with the gift, her mother makes it a point to support her every chance she gets. Especially during Shelomi’s basketball games.

Rooting for Colorado’s NCAA team, Pilar witnessed their recent 90-57 triumph over the Oregon Ducks on February 9. With the dominance on the court, the Buffs sealed their fourth victory in a row. Even though Shelomi was on the floor only for a minute, it did not dampen Pilar’s spirit in any form.
She continued to radiate enthusiasm from the stands. Being a consistent presence at Lady Buffs games, she’s an immense supporter of her daughter and the whole basketball team. Post-game, Pilar took to her Instagram story to celebrate the Lady Buffs’ victory with the caption, “#GoBuffs. Winners.”
While she’s made it to almost every Lady Buffs game this season, Pilar has also made it a point to support her sons, who play for the Colorado Buffaloes Football team. And in October, Pilar and Shelomi attended the Buffaloes game against Stanford at Folsom Field. Even though the Buffs lost 43-46, the mother0daughter duo seemed to have enjoyed the fame. As the night came to a close, Pilar posted a picture with Shelomi, wearing the Buffs’ merchandise, writing, “Under the lights with my baby.”
