It was already getting difficult for the OC of the Colorado Buffaloes when the team was losing games consecutively. Thus, the Buffaloes’ poor performance on the field made Coach Prime come to a harsh decision. Ultimately, OC Sean Lewis was demoted, and offensive analyst Pat Shurmur took over as the new offensive coordinator.

However, Deion Sanders had hired Lewis on a 3-year, $2.7 million contract. Now, since he was demoted, it puts a question mark on the deal he was promised. But, Deion Sanders, during today’s post-match interview, opined that he would not call it a demotion. Why is that so?

After the Colorado Buffaloes lost another match after Lewis’s demotion against the Oregon State Beavers, Deion Sanders discussed the matter in the post-game conference. He stated, “You got to understand now, you only get so many coaches in college football, so when you make a move like we made, that means someone has to… uh…

He continued, “I don’t call it demotion. I think, move everybody’s making the same amount of money. So, when you get demoted, that’s a hit on your check, so it’s a movement that we had to make, I think. We use how many tight ends in the games? So think about that. It’s the proper move.”

Deion Sanders demoted Lewis to improve the Buffaloes’ performance on the field. But the team still lost against the Oregon State Beavers, disappointing the fans and analysts even more. One may wonder how that happened or what was it that affected the Buffaloes’ performance.

The Colorado Buffaloes lost to the Oregon State Beavers with a score of 26-19. The team obviously struggled throughout the match with their offense and defense. Oregon’s defense was executed in a top-notch form that successfully limited the Buffaloes’ offense to 238 yards. Therefore, quarterback Shedeur Sanders was impelled to throw short passes.

The Buffaloes also could not manage their final position in the first half, because of which the Beavers had enough time to score an easy touchdown. QB Sanders could not perform well either, and he was sacked a total of 4 times.

Even when the OC has been changed, the Buffaloes did not exhibit a very positive result. Since the change has been recent, it might take a little more time for the team to adjust and display an improved performance. What do you think about it?
