Zak Zinter, the offensive guard for the Michigan Wolverines, is in doubt about playing in the upcoming Rose Bowl against Alabama. The 22-year-old has been a vital part of the team’s undefeated record but was injured severely while playing against Ohio State and had to be stretchered off the field. Later, Zinter’s mother revealed that he had suffered a broken tibia and fibula and would be undergoing surgery for the injuries. What about the Rose Bowl?
His absence at this event would mean the Michigan Wolverines would be missing one of their strongest pieces on the chessboard. After all, Zinter has been the best offensive lineman for the team this season.

Zak Zinter and his chances of playing the Rose Bowl game
On December 18, Zak Zinter was seen attending an award show for the Wolverines, where fans finally got to see a glimpse into his recovery. Prior to this, Zinter was seen walking around with crutches. But during the award show, he was finally seen walking on his own two feet at the event.

After he underwent the surgery, it’s been difficult for Zinter to come back to his original strength. The leg injury was termed season-ending. While his absence will be a loss for the team, they did just fine in his absence against Iowa in the Big Ten title game.
The chances of Zinter showing up on the field anytime soon are pretty slim. He will need an adequate rest after his surgery. But that didn’t stop Michigan fans from showing their immense love and support for him. In fact, when he was carried off the field after his injury while playing against Ohio State, fans cheered for him.
