The 110th Rose Bowl is a crucial playoff semifinal in the 2023 FBS football season, determining a contender for the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship. The game, officially known as the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Rose Bowl Game presented by Prudential, concludes the season before the National Championship in Houston. 

This year’s matchups include Michigan vs. Alabama in the Rose Bowl and Washington vs. Texas in the Sugar Bowl. Tom Brady, a distinguished Michigan alum, left an indelible mark on both college football and the NFL. Tom Brady’s Rose Bowl appearances

While he didn’t partake in the 1998 Rose Bowl, Brady made a significant impact in the 2000 Orange Bowl, guiding his #8 Michigan side to victory with a career-high 369 yards and four touchdowns. His exceptional performance helped the Wolverines overcome two 14-point deficits during regulation play. Tom Terrific led his team to a tight 35-34 win in overtime. During Brady’s final NCAA play, he threw the game winning score to tight end Shawn Thompson.

Brady’s journey continued beyond college, culminating in remarkable success in the NFL. He secured his record-extending tenth Super Bowl appearance in 2020, becoming the fourth quarterback to lead two teams to the Super Bowl—an impressive feat. During his college years at Michigan in the late 1990s, Brady served as the starting quarterback for the Wolverines. Despite sharing playing time with Drew Henson, Brady etched his name in Michigan’s passing record books with impressive career stats, including 710 attempts, 442 completions, 5,351 passing yards, and a 62.3% completion rate.
