The sign-stealing saga continues to grow as new details keep on emerging. Days out from Ohio’s match against Michigan, the teams have added animosity in the air. There’s now a major story developing that Ohio State HC Ryan Day and his brothers might be involved in sign-stealing. Sparks are flying between the teams as they look to compete on November 25th.

To add fire to the fuel, Ohio’s HC Ryan Day denied any involvement in the sign-stealing controversy. Back in 2022, during the Big Ten Conference accused the Ohio team of sharing Michigan’s signs. The practice that has been deemed as cheating and unsportsmanlike has once again taken the headlines. While Michigan is still coming to terms with playing under an interim coach, Ohio has started playing mind games as the Michigan Wolverines are almost through to entering the playoffs.

Understanding the Ryan Day and the sign-stealing accusations

While one of the NCAA team’s HCs now faces suspension for their in-person scouting challenges, another side head coach who faced a similar situation has denied any such allegations. Ryan Day has come into the news as the NCAA investigates the sign-stealing fiasco. The Ohio State Football team was facing heat for an incident dating back to the 2022 sign-stealing practices.

As per the Michigan, the Ohio team provided offensive signals during the game against Purdue. However, the NCAA has cleared Ryan Day and his family from the accusations. The NCAA concluded the result by having been unable to find any conclusive evidence of the same. These claims were a farce as no conclusive evidence was obtained.

It’s a contrasting result for the Michigan and Ohio sides. Michigan currently possesses documents that can link sign stealing allegation to his younger brother. The plot thickens as the Big 10 might look into the papers and hand out a verdict. Day also appeared in the media and gave his statement regarding the allegations. He said- “I can answer very strongly that did not happen.” The ongoing sign-stealing controversy seems to be growing on the Michigan side as their future lies in jeopardy.

After Michigan went ahead with putting out the “Michigan vs. Everyone” fight, there are new developments in the story. While Michigan is now facing disciplinary action from the Big 10, Ryan’s name has been cleared. The Michigan side is now facing several consequences post Harbaugh’s suspension.
