South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler was born on September 28, 2000, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Michael Rattler and Susan Konkel Rattler. After completing his high school at Pinnacle High School in 2019, he joined the University of Oklahoma for his bachelor’s degree with a major in communication while pursuing his interest in football.

Although Spencer was good at playing baseball and basketball, he chose football as a long-term career goal, receiving ample support from his father. However, after spending a couple of months at Oklahoma University, he transferred to South Carolina for better opportunities but continued his 6-year-old romantic partnership with Yazmina Gonzalez.

Yazmina Gonzalez is the daughter of Hector Gonzalez and Nancy Gonzalez. Interestingly, both Hector and Nancy are realtors by profession. Hector studied at Bucks County Community College and works at La Rosa Realty Lake Nona. Hector’s wife, Nancy, works at North & Co., which is probably her start-up. She loves volleyball, hiking, and living a healthy life. Yazmina was raised by Nancy in a single-parent household. Recalling her upbringing, Yazmina said, “However, my mom brought more energy, support and love than four parents combined. She never spoke of the hardships single parents face.

Yazmina Gonzalez is a former volleyball player from Glendale, Arizona. She did her schooling at Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Arizona, showing interest in volleyball from the young age of 12. After completing her schooling in 2019, she joined the Livewire Volleyball Club. Other than her liking for volleyball, she loves traveling and wants to pursue a career in nursing. She also supports Spencer in his footballing endeavors and is even expected to attend the 2024 draft. 

NFL draft prospects of Spencer Rattler

Billed at 6 feet tall and 211 lbs, Spencer ended with a prospect grade of 5.95 and a total score of 72, fetching an overall ranking of 8th among QBs. NFL analyst Lance Zierlein writes, “Rattler will still flash glimpses of what he showed in his 2020 season as a Sooner.” He further adds, “He [Spencer Rattler] was better than some of his 2023 numbers might indicate,” indicating that Rattler has not performed up to the mark last season.

Given his performance at the NFL combine, he is expected to be drafted in the 4th round. NFL insider Jordan Schultz has also reported that Rattler has received interest from several teams like the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants, and Seattle Seahawks. Another report from ESPN states that the Falcons and Broncos have worked out with Rattler while he has had interviews with the Seahawks and the Patriots.
