The Ohio State Buckeyes are eyeing this 5-star 2025 recruit to improve the team’s line of defense, but so are other teams in the NCAA. Ryan Day, the HC for the Buckeyes, has already made his mark on the 2025 recruiting cycle and currently ranks No. 2 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

This is Na’eem Offord, the five-star plus cornerback from Birmingham Parker High School. His early offer list includes Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Clemson, Texas, Stanford, Penn State, Michigan, and several other Power 4 programs. By far, he is one of the best cornerbacks in terms of up-and-coming talents, and as such, Day isn’t wasting a lot of time in bringing him to Ohio.

The Ohio State Buckeyes seem to be doing well for themselves in the 2025 recruiting cycle. So far, they have already added five-star cornerback Devin Sanchez and Blake Woodby — the No. 8 cornerback in the 2025 cycle. Now, with Day’s pursuit of Na’eem Offord, it is evident that the Buckeyes’ defense will end up looking unlike anything ever seen before.

Offord is 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, with a high potential to fill out to roughly 200 pounds by the time he comes to be of college level. Naeem Offord is a top prospect for the state and national recruiting rankings because of his early offer list and adaptable playing style. Moreover, he can have a big impact at the collegiate level with his high abilities and skills. Thus, the signing between Offord and the Buckeyes seems to be more plausible since Tim Walton went to meet the youngster.

Tim Walton is said to have met with Na’eem Offord already over a potential signing

The cornerbacks coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Tim Walton, visited Offord on Tuesday to discuss a future in the team for him. Offord seems like a prominent addition to the team and would be sure to improve the defensive maneuvers drastically. His agility and intensity would make him a perfect addition to the squad and the HC, Ryan Day, realizes that.

Moreover, the talks between Walton and Offord seem to have taken a turn for the better, as recent reports suggest that the youngster is set to visit the team this coming weekend. The Buckeyes are hellbent on getting the best cornerbacks for the team and that is exactly what happened when Blake Woodby announced his decision to commit to Ohio.

Woodby said, “Their slogan is: develop here. The biggest thing for me is getting to the league. Ohio State produces cornerbacks, they believe in guys like me and they coach their guys up. I was going where I felt I would be put into the best position to get to the NFL and that is why I chose Ohio State.” Thus, Day’s mission in redefining the roster to the fullest seems to be working as more and more talented players choose to be a part of the men in red and white.
