Julie Rhule, born Julie Nibert, has been a strong pillar for Matt in his coaching career, including the recent successes and failures. It was in college at Penn State University when Matt was a football player and Julie was a student that their love blossomed and they became soul mates. They got married in the year 2002 and have been blessed with a wonderful family.

Montoursville is a village located in the state of Pennsylvania and this is where Julie was born. Her father Donald Nibert was working as a forestry teacher at the Pennsylvania College of Technology and her mother, Donna, completed her home economics degree from West Virginia University. Julie first encountered Matt Rhule while she was working for Chili’s as a waitress, Matt was a fry cook and grill guy and this was at Penn State. They also became close friends as they continued to spend time together. They had their first few dates and realized that the two of them were perfect for each other.

Julie and Matt Rhule have three children: Bryant, Vivienne, and Leona. Julie has maintained the family close even though Matt has a very tight coaching schedule and most of the time they have to move from one place to another. She is not only a wife to him but also a professional registered dietitian working with Sodexo and at Temple University in Philadelphia. Julie also engaged in community and charitable activities while at Baylor University and could influence changes in the community positively during Matt’s leadership.

Matt Rhule began his coaching career at Albright College and later worked for Temple University, Baylor University, Carolina Panthers, and now Nebraska Cornhuskers. He guided Temple to their first bowl of victory since 1979. His time at Baylor brought the team to an 11-3 record and a Sugar Bowl in the 2019 season. He began his professional career in 2020 when he entered a seven-year deal with the Carolina Panthers before relocating to Nebraska in 2022.
Julie has been supportive of Matt’s career from the beginning. In an interview, Matt shared, “Julie has been my rock.” Her support and counsel have been the most influential in critical times, like when she persuaded Matt to take the coaching position with the Panthers.
