Born in Carlsbad, CA, Sayin attended Carlsbad High School with his older brother, Aidan, who was the starting quarterback at Lancers. After the high school journey, Sayin played for Alabama during his junior season and, as a junior, he passed for 2,708 yards as well as 27 touchdowns. On January 21, 2024, Julian announced his commitment to OSU and recruit as a second-best quarterback prospect in the 2024 class. Basically, after the retirement of seven-time National Champion Nick Saban, Sayin took the decision to move to Ohio State even after signing the letter of intent with Alabama.
