Peggy Coppom became a monumental figure for Deion Sanders himself when he was hired last December. He visited her house to mark the start of a longstanding friendship. Since then, she’s been on the Sports Illustrated cover alongside Deion and was also featured in the Coach Prime documentary series. Now, the spotlight is being shone on Eddie, the man who continues to be a devout friend to Peggy, in her mission of being a die-hard Colorado fan.

This is Eddie, Coppom’s dearest friend

As per Laura Levy’s tweet from June 1, she shared the endearing story of a man named Eddie, who has taken it upon himself to ensure that Peggy has no complaints about or a lack of resources about her transportation. This is exactly how the magic of football works, by reuniting the best people to come together and watch as the ball soars high in the skies, along with everyone’s dreams tied onto it.

According to the tweet, “Eddie is an incredible friend who is by Peggy’s side almost every day. He drives her to the games, to church (she attends every day) and to anywhere she needs to go.” Thus, it doesn’t look like Peggy will have any complaints about heading to witness the Buffaloes in action while Eddie is by her side. Moreover, after Deion’s promise to her, it’s all the more important that she be in attendance for the 2024 season.

Coach Prime’s promise to Peggy for this year

The friendship between Coach Prime and Peggy is endearing. She is in attendance for most of Colorado’s important games and Deion always gives her her flowers whenever he can. During the Spring Game, however, he took it a step further and made her a promise that sent the fans into an excited uproar.

Deion got on the field and uttered these words with thousands in attendance, “Peggy, wherever you are, I love you. I appreciate you and our goal is that we are going to get you to a Bowl game baby. God bless you.” The Colorado Buffaloes seem to be on an exciting new journey to go all the way to the natty game this season with a redeveloped roster, and with a promise made to Peggy, the stakes have never been high for Coach Prime and his team.
