Jack Sawyer has been soaring high in his NFL career

Jack Sawyer entered the Ohio State program as a five-star recruit and the highest-rated prospect in the Buckeyes’ 2021 recruiting class. He can do very well on the field, considering this is only his second year on campus. He played in 13 games as a freshman, with 13 tackles and three sacks to go with one forced fumble. Next was Sawyer’s sophomore season, where he took on the role of both a defensive end and a “jack” in the hybrid position.

Recording 24 tackles, including 6.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks, he made an honorable mention at the All-Big Ten Conference. Jack Sawyer’s ability to perform in multiple positions turned his versatility into proof that he was willing to do anything to raise the team’s excellence. In 2023, the light seemed to go on for Sawyer in the season’s second half, as he posted 28 stops, eight for loss, and 5.5 sacks over the last six games, including three against Missouri in the Cotton Bowl.
