Stone Anderson, a kicker for the Michigan Wolverines football team, is an athlete with a reputation. Of course, no Wolverine can do without work ethic, commitment, and family support. Anderson’s football journey began in Deerfield, Massachusetts, where he was born on December 10, 2004, and attended high school at Deerfield Academy.

Deerfield Academy High School was an excellent period in Anderson’s life, during which he achieved numerous accomplishments. In his prep football, he received All-League awards twice in the Northeastern Prep Football Conference: the first-team selection last year and the second-team rank in his junior year. At the 2022 Future Stars Kickoff, he achieved a remarkable 75-yard kickoff with a 4.0-second hang time, showcasing his powerful leg and precision. All these accomplishments are just a result of him having been supported wholeheartedly by his parents.

Meet his parents: Gary and Liz Anderson, besides taking him to games, they have also ensured that he learns values such as working hard and not giving up easily. Gary knows how sports exert pressure and has been supportive of Stone. Liz also played a very caring mother figure in the life of Stone to make sure that he was always on track for whatever he wanted to achieve. Stone has often acknowledged that his parents had everything to do with his success. “I was always encouraged by my parents I learned to be the best that I can ever be,” Stone said.

When Stone moved to the University of Michigan his family was there to encourage him and assist him with the difficult period of balancing studies and sports. Both of his parents like to support Stone from the sidelines and while not much is publicly available about them, it is just the fact that they have been there for him in his dark times, lighting the way for him.

Stone’s on-field performance and future aspirations

The transition to college was seamless for Stone, thanks in large part to his family’s support. As he joined the Michigan Wolverines, Stone embraced the opportunity to play at a higher level. “I’m excited to have the opportunity to keep playing at the next level on a bigger stage,” Stone said, reflecting his enthusiasm for the challenges ahead.

A strong family bond has assisted Stone in the course of performing his duties, especially in pressing moments knowing that he has backup at home. It cannot be very convenient for anyone to balance between education and sports, however, given the principles that his parents instilled in him and his willingness to work harder then he is in a vantage to succeed.
