Rodarius “Rara” Jaiquan Thomas, the Georgia wide receiver, has made quite a name for himself in the past few years. Rara, who committed to Georgia Bulldogs in 2022, played as many as 11 out of 14 games last season, where he started in 8. The WR made it to the headlines as he recorded a 56-yard catch in a season-opening victory over UT Martin. In what could be called an impressive season, Rara snagged 23 receptions for 383 yards and scored a touchdown.

Rara Thomas’ family and key moments

Rodarius began his football career at Eufaula High School, Alabama. Under head coach Ed Rigby, the receiver caught 55 passes for 945 yards and 13 touchdowns in his senior year. A former 3-star prospect, Rara committed to MSU in 2020. While at Mississippi State, Rara pulled off a touchdown against Texas Tech at the Liberty Bowl, sending the crowd into rapture. The WR finished his 2022 season at MSU with 44 catches for 626 yards and seven touchdowns, making his mark on the field.

This receiver’s guardians were named Courtney Thomas and Rodney McCoy. While the names of his guardians were dragged amidst his arrests, not much information concerning Rara Thomas’ family is in the public domain, so very little is known about them.

Rara Thomas’ future is uncertain at Georgia

It’s been rough for Kirby Smart. The Bulldogs have landed themselves in a string of troubles, with 26 arrests in just 19 months, primarily for driving offenses and domestic disturbances. The latest incident involved wide receiver Rara Thomas.

Rara has found himself in hot waters yet again this year. The wide receiver, who everybody thought would be a big deal, has been hit with a raft of charges in the last few years. It is not one incident; he has had many brushes relating to different misdemeanors and other offenses with the law, including the latest felony of “second-degree cruelty to children.” He was arrested on Friday morning for three counts of family violence battery and three counts of second-degree cruelty to children, per FOX 5 in Atlanta.

In 2023, the WR was arrested for the alleged crimes of felony, false imprisonment, and a misdemeanor family violence battery. However, he was dismissed after completing a pretrial diversion program.

In light of the recent events, Thomas has been suspended indefinitely from the Georgia football team. The Associated Press published the athletic department’s comment, “This is a pending legal matter. We will have no further comment at this point.” Head coach Kirby Smart also deleted his birthday wishes for Rara Thomas, which he had posted 10 minutes before the news went viral.
