Does Quinn Ewers owe his success more to his talent or his family's unwavering support?

Quinn Ewers, a 21-year young Texas player, started his football career with the Carroll High School football team which was coached by Riley Dodge. He made his talent evident by completing 291 of 402 passes for 3,998 yards with 45 touchdowns against three interceptions. This record was set in his sophomore year which sounds like a great deal. Ewers’ journey to stardom isn’t just about his talent but also the constant support that he got from his family.

In the Big 12 Championship last year, Quinn set the record for most passing yards in a single conference championship game and was named MVP (Most Valuable Player) for the conference title. He got this recognition for his exceptional performance and significant contribution to Longhorns’s success in the Big 12. A great portion of his performances and recognition goes to Quinn’s family. Talking of Quinn’s mother – Kristen Ewers, she is a fourth-grade teacher at Southlake Public School. As a matter of surprise, she has been teaching for over two decades. Being so out of the league of football as a teacher, she still understands how important athletics is. A healthy mind lies in a healthy body. Since childhood, she has been supporting him. During an interview back in January she shared how she supported him even when he used to play in the home, remembering the fond memories with Quinn he said, “The house was meant to be lived in and I figured I’d hang my paintings back up when Quinn went to college.” She said this while remembering an incident when Quinn tossed a ball that passed over her head while she was loading the dishwasher.

Completing this beautiful family tree, Quinn also has two sisters. One is younger than him and the other one is older when he was in High School, and she passed out of college. The younger one, Teddy-Raye Ewers, is a volleyball player. Her dad Curtis supports her just like he supports his son Quinn. In the year 2021, he tweeted a picture of her daughter playing Volleyball and he captioned it as, Proud of this 7th grade athlete Teddy-Raye Ewers. Her journey in @SLCAthletics will be fun.” Shows how much he loves and supports her in all her life endeavors. Curtis seems like a true family man who is helping Quinn rise in his career.

Have an interesting take?

Quinn is the no.1 and no.2 prospect in the 2021 and 2022 classes, respectively. An impressive QB, he has been throwing balls with his dad since he was just 3. During his childhood, Quinn attended an informal QB camp which was run and tutored by Soony Dtemer, whose son Ty won the legendary Heisman Trophy. After the camp, Sonny told Curtis that Quinn was special. Well, it indeed takes no time to identify a shining diamond and Sonny did it well in the case of Quinn at that young of an age!

Since then, he has just been growing. From his high school team to Ohio State and then in the Longhorns, during all these years he has just polished his QB skills and nothing else. Quinn is also the first amateur athlete to sign a NIL deal which was worth over $1 million. For a young kid like his, it is a great deal. Speaking of his worth once Quinn was a cover athlete for EA Sports College Football 25 along with legendary players like Donovan Edwards and Travis Hunter, whom everyone looks up to in one way or the other. Well, still a lot is to come his way as he bags a lot of talent with him. Let us cross our fingers for the bright future of this young athlete.
