Can Olaus Alinen live up to the hype and become a star at Alabama?

Olaus Alinen made everyone talk after his historic decision to choose the Alabama Crimson Tide for his college journey, and he’s the first one to do it from his tribe. On top of that, he had 46 other scholarship offers to go for. Olaus lived in Pori, Finland while growing up; that’s why he’s called a Finnish-American footballer. After he made his commitment news public, a Finnish NFL announcer said, “This is the biggest thing to ever happen in American football in Finland.” Well, after hearing that, if not anyone, his parents must have been very proud.

And Olaus has a strong family connection to football; it’s in his DNA. It was his father who was a great footballer when he was young, and he also taught football to Olaus since he was a kid. Not only did Olaus inherit his father’s love for football, but he also inherited his father’s size. Olaus, who’s 6-foot-7 and 315 pounds, looks like a 2.0 version of his dad. Klaus Alinen  Olaus’s father got a nickname from fans, and it’s called “Hulk” which was given to him by looking at his athletic abilities and huge size; he stands at 6’6 with 260 pounds. He was a Finnish-American football player who was a tight end for the Atlanta Falcons. After completing a year of practice, he got a contract to play in 2006’s pre-season. Actually, he was the first one to ever sign a contract with an NFL team, but he didn’t play any regular season. Through international training, Klaus joined the Falcons. When it came to games, he was an expert both as a tight and defensive end. Later, he enrolled with the Berlin Thunder, where he played three seasons in NFL Europe. Apart from Olaus’s dad’s football history, we know nothing about what he currently does or what his mother, Milli Alinen, does.

Olaus comes from a family that is quite used to making history, and Olaus is following in his dad’s footsteps. As we talked earlier, he was being offered by 46 colleges, but he shortlisted five universities, which were Alabama Georiga, Miami, Ohio State, and Oregon. The rest is history, as we all know which college he chose to go with. We have been talking about his college journey since the beginning, but now let’s look at his early life as well. The time when he was just a kid and started taking baby steps towards his goal.

Olaus Alinen enrolled at the Loomis Chaffee School as an offensive tackle.  is known for his impressive strength combined with his massive frame. He is quite good at playing both right and left tackle. Despite having a large frame, he is stunningly flexible and very technically moves each step. When it comes to awards and recognition, he has a bucket full of them.

Olaus Allen was ranked No. 132 on the ESPN 300 list and the No. 14 offensive tackle prospect by the same. In the state of Connecticut, he’s the No. 1 player. Wow, that’s impressive!  On the rankings by 247Sports, he stands at no. 131 overall and no. 17 as a tackle. The list is quite long, and it’ll take another paragraph to write it all down. After high school, he got invited to play in the Under Armour Next Future 50 and the Under Armour All-America game. After having such kind of awards, no wonder most of the colleges wanted him to sign. Now that he has chosen Alabama, we will soon be able to watch him on the field in the upcoming season.
