Nasir Wyatt brings a tornado with him when he hits the gridiron. The 6-foot-2 newly recruited linebacker for the Oregon Ducks is making waves in college football with his unique style. Wyatt sharpened his football skills at Matar Dei High School in California and now enjoys being an emerging talent in college football. He’s been compared with NFL players and recruiting expert Greg Biggin says that “he’s the most violent player I’ve seen.”
Nasir Wyatt is ranked as the No. 38 recruit in the 2025 class and the No. 2 player in California by ESPN. Being impressed by Oregon’s coaching staff’s vast experience in creating top-tier linebackers, he chose to be with the Ducks. However, while talking about his professional life, a question arises about his personal life as well. The family he comes from isn’t much known, despite a social media post by Wyatt.

It’s saddening that we don’t know who the people behind the success of this young man are; however, by looking at the photo he shared, one thing can be confirmed: his family is very supportive of him. Wyatt shared this picture after his commitment with the Ducks, and you can see everyone from his family wearing green jerseys to cherish Wyatt’s journey together at the Oregan Ducks. Amid his commitment to Oregon, he went down in the top 247 rankings from 95th to 126th. The national recruiting analyst, Greg Biggins has a say on this; he thinks that “Nasir is the best high school football player in California. but he’s a 6-foot-2 edge rusher with not a lot of growth potential on his frame, and he’s already old for his grade”. The 247Sports player rankings are supposed to be an NFL projection; however, there are meager chances that Nasir will ever grow bigger and be suitable for his natural position as the experts believe.

Biggins further said that he’s got an ideal safety frame. And when we look at the player, we try to predict the frame about how much bigger he can get. “If Wyatt’s frame can’t carry 240+ pounds sufficiently, a position change is likely to be needed. Nasir might have to be more of a drop linebacker, but he’s never done that before. He’s never been that guy who played in space or covered anyone”. He then went on to explain what he says—that Nasir has always been in a two-point stance off the edge, which is hitting the quarterback or hitting the running back. Despite all these facts, Biggins says that Nasir is his favorite player both on and off the field. However, it’s an idea of a player from the eyes of an expert while there are exceptions and anything can happen on the gridiron as the linebacker has already marked his name from his journey till now.

Wyatt has done wonders on the field even as a junior in high school at Mater Dei; he scored 14 sacks and 21 tackles for loss. But the key factor that caught the attention of the recruiters is the way he’s on the field. I mean, he is very violent and puts out a lot of effort while playing. and that shows the hunger to win, and that is what the coach looks up to in a player.
Despite being judged for his size and frame, he is still considered a standout player in the 2025 class. The coaches at Oregon, including Tosh Lupoi, the defensive coordinator, and head coach Dan Lanning, praise his game and have high hopes for him. They say that Nasir Wyatt’s Qniqk skill set is going to play a major role in the duck’s defense.
