People assume that football always came easy to me because my dad played in the NFL,” the Michigan LB stated during the announcement of his college football commitment. However, we can see that Micah Pollard is mostly right as many father-son duos are in the NFL Hall of Fame such as Bobby-Marlon Humphrey, Rudy-Kantroy Barber, and more. But to make a name in the competitive world of gridiron, the talent and caliber of an individual player cannot be ignored.

Coming from a sports family can be helpful for M. Pollard to achieve success with the guidance of his father and uncle, as both of them spent a long time with the NFL. But the Michigan linebacker is interested in making his unique footprints and that’s why he does not follow in his father’s footsteps. Micah Pollard’s football family behind his success

Micah, raised in Jacksonville, FL, is the son of Marcus Pollard and Amani Pollard and both of them are rooted in the sports world from an early age. Marcus Pollard played 14 seasons in the NFL. After football, Marcus joined as a Director of Player Development, partnering with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Conversely, Amani Pollard was a standout basketball guard for Farmington back in the day. Along with that, his older brother Myles and youngest sister Ayris also connected with the athletic world. Additionally, Micah’s sister Aja Pollard is a basketball prospect. Hence, the athletic family of Micah inspires him to put more effort into getting success as early as possible.

The connecting pipeline of Micah with the sports world does not end here. Somehow it’s even more notable that Micah’s uncle Braylon Edwards, is a Michigan legend. However, he is connected with Micah through Micah’s maternal grandfather. Most importantly, Braylon was a wide receiver for the New York Jets. In 2020, as a junior, Micah made 69 tackles and 1 interception. After that, he left high school with the label of three-star prospect. Then the Michigan Wolverines offered this stellar performer during the hiring of a new defensive staff. M. Pollard enrolled his name on the special teams unit of Michigan in 2023. Throughout that course, Micah made five tackles on kickoff coverage, such a remarkable performance of the LB impressed the coaches of the Wolverines. 

Currently, the linebacker focuses on bringing more for the team in the 2024 season. However, it seems like he is destined for more than a traditional linebacker role.
