The rising star of the Longhorns, Malik Muhammad, has come from an athletic family. His father and uncle had a very high-quality connection with Texas coaches such as Terry Joseph, Jeff Banks, and more.

Malik is the son of Nimat Abdullah and was born in DeSoto, TX. He has eight siblings, including him, and he is one of only three boys. His mother has contributed to shaping the character and personality of him. However, no more information is publicly available regarding the parents of the 4-star defensive back, but his parents were involved in his academic and football career to ensure that his decision would be advantageous for him. 

Coming to his cousin’s history; he has a brother-liked cousin named Jabbar Muhammad, a starting cornerback for the Washington Huskies, who was the first person to train him at the position he is now. Along with that, both of them will be participating in the Sugar Bowl this season. On that note, Malik said, “I’m really excited to step out on the field with him“. Muhammad’s football journey started in South Oak Cliff and he was so fond of the team that he said, “I want to do it for the hood, for South Oak Cliff,” after leaving IMG Academy. Most importantly, because of his stellar performance, he ranked as the nation’s No. 2-rated cornerback. Then he joined Texas to brighten his future journey. On explaining the reason to choose Longhorns, he mentioned “After a couple of visits, them keeping in touch with me and my parents. I loved it, and they had a good time in Texas.” Presently, the defensive back put all his effort into becoming the next-level player for the Longhorns.
