Just when people were talking about Alabama‘s not-so-great RB situation this year, Nick Saban did something unexpected and asked Kevin Riley to change his commitment from Miami to Alabama, and he happily agreed! To support his choice, he says, “I feel like Alabama was the place that I needed to be developed into a better player and a better man.” His statement showcases how sensitive he is to his goal. Meanwhile, do you know who Kevin Riley is? He is one of the top running backs in the country and a four-star prospect.

The talented RB chose Alabama over Arkansas, Auburn, and Miami. He went on his football journey by starting at Tucson County High School and having a remarkable career there. Janae Riley is not that active on social media, but when she is, it’s definitely about her son. Even her X and Instagram bio read the same: “Football mom #Kevin Riley” wrote his mama. She always tries to accompany Kevin on his official visits. An old X post of hers explains her emotions very well. “Remember your dreams are as hungry as your demons. Make sure you’re feeding the right ones,” advises Kevin’s mom by writing this caption. Furthermore, she continues, “Team captain and offensive MVP! Keep shining, my guy!—your biggest fan.” That’s such a heartwarming caption for the post! It shows a picture of Kevin Riley’s captain trophy from Tuscaloosa County High School and the certificate he got after the 2022 season. When Kevin flipped to Alabama, she must have been the happiest because Kevin gets to be close to her.

During his time at Tuscaloosa County High School, he was quite a popular name. During his senior season, Riley scored 769 yards, going along with 7 touchdowns. On top of that, he caught eight passes for 43 yards and one touchdown. After which he got injured and eventually missed three games. However, his stats suggest he’s going to be a valuable addition to Alabama.

the 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds Kevin Riley is a versatile player. The few interesting things about him are that he can run at a high speed and catch the ball out of the backfield while staying on the field for third downs. After evaluating his abilities, 247 Sports ranked him as the No. 4 running back in the 2024 recruiting cycle. As we all know, Kevin Riley is the first RB in the 2024 class, but Saban has some other plans to recruit Daniel Hill and Jaden Baugh. If that happens, then Alma’s QB room is going to be a place full of talent.
