Can family support be the secret weapon for young athletes like Jordan Seaton?

The transition that turned Jordan Seaton into Shedeur Sanders’ on-field protector began long ago. Picture this: A Friday night high school football match, Seaton, who is much taller than everybody else, more often than not, makes space for his quarterback. Football scouts keenly observe the happenings in a bid to sign the prospect. After receiving attention from big programs like Ohio State, Jordan preferred to pledge to the Colorado Buffaloes to become a part of Deion Sanders’ team.

He committed to the Buffs because of Coach Prime and how they welcomed him as a family. While details about his parents remain little, it is safe to assume that his family is his support system. Jordan’s progression in football and his passion for the Colorado team are tales of passion and bonds.

Colorado’s staff, especially the recruitment team, ensured that his family would be well cared for during the entire recruitment process, Jordan Seaton said. “They made my mom feel special and that meant everything to me.” He said this after an assistant coach gave him a Buffaloes blanket as he tried to commit to the Buffaloes program, proving that the program cares for him as a person, not only for football.

Last year, despite his family’s preference for privacy, Jordan celebrated his mom’s birthday. Jordan said, “Two schools wished my mother a happy birthday, and Colorado was one of them. It’s the little things like that which stand out to me.” Jordan doesn’t involve his mom in his recruitment decisions but appreciates the small gestures. Jordan also publicly supports and encourages his younger brother, Jeremiah.
