Born on September 28, 2005, in Pinson, AL, Mbakwe turned 18 years old on Thursday and celebrated his birthday in front of a national audience with a 36-33 win over Thompson. His parents, Chika Mbakwe and Gabrielle Mbakwe, were also present there to join him. Most importantly, his mother wore a shirt with a bedazzled outline of her son on the back. After that, he enrolled his name in Alabama over offers from LSU, Georgia, USC, Notre Dame, and more for his college football. Although Nick was the main reason for his joining, after the retirement of Nick, he continued his journey with Crimson Tide. Currently, the cornerback is preparing himself for the upcoming championship so that he brings more to the team.
