Jackson Arnold is an Atlanta native and he started his journey with Oklahoma Sooners in the year 2023. He is a quarterback with brilliant statistics even at this young age, he is just 19. Think of it as him joining the University and being a five-star and top-25 national recruit who is also named Gatorade Football Player of the Year in the 2022 season, how proud his parents would be! Arnold was raised by his father Todd Arnold and mother Sharon Arnold. Talking of Todd Arnold, he was a running back at Wofford. A proof right there that football runs in the blood of Arnold family. We know how Todd would have helped Jackson become what he is today, upskilling him by teaching all that he knows about the wonderful sport. Sharon Arnold, the mother of Jackson is often seen during Jackson’s games, supporting him selflessly like any proud mother would. During an interview, Sharon shared one of Jackson’s moments which she called the moment when his “little boy grew up.” It was the 2022 season, she went to his room and found Jackson playing a video game when he said he would not play games at night. The very next day Jackson had a match which he lost by 24-0. Jackson was also able to complete just 2 passes out of 11. That was the moment when he decided that this could not go like this forever, that was the moment he changed! Coming back home bruised was the start of a transformation. Jackson Arnold played his first season in the year 2022 and he appeared in 6 games in a backup role. From right there he made it all evident, the skills that he has very clearly visible, he competed for 44 out of 69 passes, which is like 63.8% of positive outcomes, this was done for 563 yards and five touchdowns, something very rare for a fresher like him. Then he continued to excel and never really looked back. His first career start was marked by him completing 26 out of 45 passes for 361 yards and two touchdowns.
Even in high school, he proved that he was made of steel. In the year 2022, he was named as the winner of the Landry Award for senior year. He was also named the Tournament’s MVP when he participated in the finals of the 2022 Elite 11 QB Competition. Well, the list just truly goes on.
