Flynt family with a passion for sport

Ian is among the lucky ones who have a very strong sporting family background. The Flynt family has four members, each sharing a great interest in sports. His father, Darren Flynt, his mother, Dagmar Pesakova, and his only sister, Amelia Flynt.
Darren started his track career at Nebraska and was on the Husker track team in 1994, where he set a national record in the hammer throw. He was quite a popular player like his son in those days. He completed his career at Azusa Pacific.
Dagmar Pesakova almost made her Olympics debut in 1996 by setting a NAIA national record in the discus throw. She had a remarkable career as a thrower in the 1990s after coming from the Czech Republic.

While Amelia moved to Nebraska in January 2023 after her first year at Cal-Berkeley. She set her first freshman record in the shot put (54′ 2.75″), which was the second-best in the program’s history. She finished eighth in the shot put (52′ 1.25″) at the Big Ten Indoor Championships in 2023.
Nebraska is a tradition for the Flynt family
No wonder that Flynt excelled in track and field. His parents were track and field athletes. They both attended Nebraska and got to know each other while they were students in Lincoln before both of them transferred to Azusa Pacific to take on their track careers.
