Germie Bernard a well-known Wide receiver for Alabama, started his football career with the Michigan State Spartans after de-committing to the Washington Huskies. However, earlier this year in January, he committed to Alabama. Opponents consider Germie a threat in open space because he can evade defenders with the help of his speed. This ability earned him the recognition as the Gatorade Player of the Year for Nevada in 2021, where he attended Liberty High School, but who is behind it all? In 2022 in his first game with the University of Washington for spring practices which was against Boise State, he made 3 receptions for 47 yards and had 2 kickoff returns for 63 yards, including a 51-yarder on the season’s first play, which got everyone talking about him as it was his first game and he outshined. Germie Bernard is raised by his mom Nicole Bernard and father Ray Bernard, who can be seen supporting him during his games. A snippet was posted by Germie on his Instagram account when he graduated from the University of Washington. Bernald’s mom and dad were with him on his graduation day, he captioned the post, “Today I want to give a shout-out to Mom and Dad, who made a BIG difference in my life showing me what hard work is supposed to look it.” He further accepted the fact that he is nothing without them by adding, “I wouldn’t be where I am without them” 

Germie’s parents keep a low profile. The whole family seems to be very down-to-earth, embracing reality and accepting their blessed fate in the most beautiful manner possible. Their son made his mark at the University of Washington and then transferred to Alabama on 1st January 2024. This move was to establish his collegiate football legacy in Alabama and prove his worth, as actions are stronger than words themselves. Of course, we know his parents are there supporting him even if they do not come out on the front stage and they will continue doing so during his time with Alabama.

Future of Germie Bernard with Alabama

Germie Bernard has showcased his extraordinary abilities with his performance with Washington, hauled in 34 receptions for 419 and 2 touchdowns, even though he was the 3rd or maybe 4th option in the passing game with players like Jalen McMillan, Rome Odunze, and Taj Davis in the team. He is considered a great WR player and the team has recognized him as an important figure. Coming to Alabama with this much experience would be icing on the cake, as he is likely to see a bigger role this 2024 season with Tuscaloosa.

In May 2023, Kalen DeBoer during an interview, expressed how he feels about Bernard coming to Alabama. He said, “Well, he’s a special person first of all.
