Does DeAndre Moore Jr.'s family support give him an edge over other young WRs in the NCAA?

At times, people thought of starting a side hustle one day and forgot about it the next day. At the same time, there’s this 20-year-old who opened “Jive Turkey,” his food truck. So, how exactly is DeAndre Moore managing between being a freshman wide receiver for the Texas Longhorns and running the food chain?

DeAndre Moore was able to multitask with the help of his mother, who’s the chef for her son’s brand and he did so by using his NIL money and investing it in his new business. It’s going to be an interesting story about how a son and his mom came up with a successful idea and managed it very fluently. It would be better to know it from his family, especially his mother.

DeAndre Moore and Taleea Moore are the parents of Texas’s WR. They hail from Anaheim, Calif. He has a twin sister named Denae. Although details about his other family members are not available, we very well know every little detail about his food truck business. It all started with him realizing his food choices as he said, “Growing up, I realized what a privilege it was to be able to gather around the table with my family and enjoy my mom’s warm home-cooked meals.” While he was in high school, he looked for leaner alternatives for beef but failed as most of the affordable food options were made of beef. From there, he took the idea to make lean protein food for people like him.

A food truck focusing on comfort food made from turkey.” that’s the motto of Jive Turkey, which is close to the University of Texas campus, and it’s mostly off during his games. Their food truck is located at 1637 East Riverside Drive in the neighborhood of Austin, Texas. Barely 2 miles away from the university campus. The tagline of the brand is “Home of DMO’s deep-fried turkey tacos.” That’s all about DeAndre’s food truck, but have you noticed one thing? The very first step behind this whole idea was DeAndre’s seriousness towards his health and staying in shape—all that to perform well in his games which he definitely did at St. John Bosco High School.

DeAndre’s high school prospect and college career

After completing high school, DeAndre was selected to play in the 2023 All-American Bowl. He got lucky to be the winner of the 2023 Polynesian Bowl. While in his prep career, he also spent time playing as a defensive back. Great recognition as the No. 77 player in the country. And no. 7 overall player in California, and also no. 14 as a wide receiver for the same. All the great things he did in high school caught the attention of many recruiters, among whom he chose to go along with Alabama.

In his freshman career, even after running a business, he appeared in 10 games, and in his first game at the Longhorn, he played in the season-opening victory over Rice. Texas won numerous games in which he contributed, including games against Baylor, Kansas, BYU, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Texas Tech. He also played his part in the Big 12 championship game against Oklahoma State.  DeAndre is a promising player as well as Mama’s darling son, who handles his responsibilities so well. Apart from that, will he be able to prove himself in the upcoming season? Don’t forget to watch the games as well as DeAndre’s tacos!
