Chidozie Nwankwo’s athletic journey began in high school at Foster High School in Richmond, Texas, where he was a dominant force on the defensive line. He earned numerous accolades, including being named the 10-5A Defensive MVP as a junior and senior. His high school success extended beyond football, as he was also a two-time Class 5A state champion in wrestling, boasting an impressive 102-5 record.

People affectionately know Chidozie Nwankwo as the “Block Bully” because of his ability to shed blocks and dominate on the defensive line. This nickname reflects his aggressive playing style and tenacity on the field, making him a formidable opponent for any offensive line. When he played for the University of Houston, he participated in 41 games and contributed to 95 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and five sacks that made him a prominent figure on the defensive front and making his nickname quite appropriate.
Apart from his success, Chidozie is not the only athlete in the family, either. Chidozie’s brother Chijioke Nwankwo has also signed for Colorado, thus adding to the family tradition of playing for the Buffaloes football team. Back in May, Nwankwo Sr. was also found praising Chijioke on committing to Colorado. “THIS IS WHAT WE DO,” wrote Nwankwo Sr., retweeting his son’s commitment announcement.
