Shedeur Sanders’ NFL draft stock has been a matter of immense discussion. Some think he would top the QB class in the 2025 NFL draft class, pioneered by Deion Sanders. While others are not so optimistic. Amid this, there is a silent rise of one quarterback. Georgia Bulldogs’ Carson Beck has come up as the heavyweight contender in the NCAA landscape this season. His season completion rate of 72.4% and 3941 passing yardage have made him the top QB on the top 16 preliminary QBs in the 2025 NFL draft board.
As it is said, “Behind every great athlete is a supportive family cheering them on“. This seems to ring true for Carson Beck since his interest in football seems to have been inherited from his father, Chris Beck. If that is true, his mother Tracy Beck has been the one to nurture the talent alongside her husband. Let’s dive deeper into it.
Chris Beck was a retired naval officer and former middle linebacker for the Navy Midshipmen from 1989 to 1992. Carson’s future football career was established during that stage of his life. Mix in a little football and military experience, and it’s easy to see that Chris instilled in him, at an early age, the principles of working hard and staying disciplined.

Tracy Beck, originally from Clinton, Maryland, acts as the family’s cornerstone. Apart from Carson, Tracy has one more daughter with Chris (now divorced): Kylie. Tracy is originally from Clinton, Maryland and attended the University of Maryland. She then became a part of the then-Washington Bullets cheerleading squad.
Tracy met Chris after she shifted to Annapolis. The couple then moved to Florida where Carson was born on November 19, 2002. Tracy has also worked for Duval County Public Schools in Florida. She steadfastly supports Carson and his sister, Kylie Beck. Tracy’s commitment to her children’s success shows in her active involvement in their lives and her unwavering encouragement.
Kylie Beck, Carson’s younger sister, excels in her own right, winning titles such as Young Miss Freedom USA and Miss Capital City’s Outstanding Teen in 2021. The Beck siblings share a strong bond, with Kylie often expressing admiration for Carson’s abilities and achievements.
Carson Beck’s family spotted his talent early
“He really is confident in his ability and his team’s ability. He just knows they are all going to go out there and just do their best,” Kylie had previously said about his brother. So how does the family feel when Carson is in a game?

“I get nervous,” Kylie says.
“We hold each other,” Tracy added. “We hold each other close. We’re in this together.” Kylie had further said. That is how the family is invested in the success of Carson. In June, Tracy had shared a picture of herself with Carson on her Instagram stories. “Love visiting my favorite boy,” she had written, along with several emojis. The family had identified Carson’s interests from a very young age.
Beck had a strong arm. He used to gun baseballs in from the outfield on his Little League teams. So impressive was the talent that South Carolina offered him a baseball scholarship as a ninth-grader, and Beck committed to Florida for baseball. But it took a different turn in 10th grade: The high school team’s starting quarterback got injured. So Beck came in for the final four games Since then, Alabama and others started showing interest.

“Once that all started, we all knew,” Tracy recalls. They probably knew even before that. In April, Tracy had shared a picture of Carson with The Athletic. It was the QB when he was just about to be two. Carson was holding a basketball and soccer ball to his head while also holding and looking at a football as if he knew where he was going to be! Not only that, Carson’s smartness is also something that he marvels at.
“He just sees the colors, sees the patterns. Everything fits together,” Kylie had said about his remarkable ability to solve the Rubik’s cubes. She thinks the same translates to his football as well. “Football is a puzzle. He can fit all the pieces together. Who he’s passing it to, who he needs to hand it off to. Everything, it all comes together for him,” Kylie added. All that being said, it seems like Carson indeed comes with everything loaded, ready to explode with a bang!
